Outworld Ranger 6 now has a title
As promised, the title for Outworld Ranger: Book 6…
Protocol SLK-001

I have the cover art already. My ex-wife created two Outworld Ranger covers before we split. She was also the one who did the text on the covers. I have the fonts and software needed for that, and I can do it. But it’s been a while, and I’m not in the mood to fuss with Pixelmator Pro at the moment.
Normally when I write a book, I know the title before the first word hits the page. If I don’t know it before starting, then I figure it out soon after.
Often the title comes before I know anything more than the concept. That was the case for Rogue Starship and Forbidden System. I came up with the basic concepts for the stories I wanted to write in the Benevolency Universe. The titles then sprang to mind. The concepts changed and evolved, but the titles remained.
Book 6, though… I started planning the book prior to the dark years of divorce and recovery. The elements of the plot have been tumbling about my head for years now. I planned chapters. I wrote chapters. Still nothing.
And then like a lightning bolt 12 days ago, wham!
With that title also came the missing piece of a puzzle. A small portion of story (within a major plot reveal) that I had yet to figure out.
Once I wrote down Protocol SLK-001, I realized the title had two meanings within the context of Book 6, and those are {{signal interrupted}}
I hope all of you are doing well as we cruise into the holiday season. We had a lovely Thanksgiving here—just me, Aubrey, and Mom. And we are still working on those leftovers.
I am reading The Shining by Stephen King right now.
I am watching The Preacher on Netflix. We are burning through the episodes. I never got into the comics, but it’s a damn fine tv show—highly addictive.
I am learning Dutch on Duolingo. I’m only a month into it, but I’m having a blast. Zijn er hier abonnees die Nederlands spreken? If so, go easy on me 😁.
